That title surely must be cliché for a first blog post, but whatever, I'm using it.
I know programmer blogs are a dime a dozen, and this blog is unlikely to attract much attention. But good and relevant programmer blogs really aren't a dime a dozen. I've been scouring the web for them for a long time, and I think I can only point to a dozen that I really liked, and some of those have gone dark. And I don't really care if this blog attracts much attention, but maybe it'll attract just a few people who find it educational or entertaining. And that would be enough for me.
So, things to expect from this blog...
- Bulleted lists. I totally love bulleted lists. Sorry.
- Code. Yeah, you're going to see some code snippets. Some good and some bad.
- Discussion about people. Programming can be a solo or team sport, but it's always about people. And I've managed a team for a while and fancy that I've learned a thing or two from experience.
- Practices and workflows. I think a lot about those, too. Besides, we need something to argue about, right?
- Blog newbiness. I'm no newbie to writing or communication, but I haven't done a blog before.
So let's see how it works out.
